Cookies & browser storage

cardean.io is a static marketing site. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising, or behavioural-tracking pixels. This page documents the small amount of state the site does put in your browser, and the few third-party requests the page makes.

1. Cookies set by Cardean

None. The marketing site does not set any cookies. Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), strictly necessary storage for a service the user has explicitly requested may be used without consent — we do not currently rely on that exemption either.

2. Local storage

We use one localStorage key to remember the UI language you pick from the language switcher:

  • cardean.lang — string value such as en, de, nl. Used only by the page that set it; never transmitted to a server.

You can clear it from your browser's site-data controls at any time.

3. Third-party requests

To render the page, your browser fetches:

  • Self-hosted Overpass webfonts from cardean.io itself — no third party involved.
  • Lucide icon library from the unpkg.com CDN. Loading this script reveals your IP address and user-agent to unpkg's operators. We are evaluating a self-hosted bundle for a future release.

No other third-party JavaScript, pixel, or beacon is loaded by cardean.io.

4. Server logs

Our origin server keeps standard access logs (IP, user-agent, path, timestamp) up to 30 days. See the privacy notice for the legal basis.

5. The Cardean gateway

This page concerns cardean.io only. The Cardean gateway is self-hosted by you, has no SaaS control plane, and makes no telemetry calls — see the Cardean Gateway page.
